Position: Plumber / General Maintenance Worker – Private Estate

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Maintenance Worker with strong plumbing expertise to join the operations team of a private household or estate. The successful candidate will take responsibility for the day-to-day upkeep, repair, and efficient functioning of the property’s infrastructure, with a focus on plumbing systems and general maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine inspections and maintenance of all plumbing systems, including:
Water supply lines, drainage systems, water heaters, and irrigation systems.
Diagnose and repair plumbing faults such as leaks, blockages, and low water pressure.
General household repairs across all trades, including:
Basic electrical (e. g. replacing outlets, lights),
Carpentry (e. g. doors, hinges, cabinetry),
Minor masonry, painting, and tiling.
Maintain and repair estate equipment, appliances, and fixtures.
Support the broader household or estate team during emergencies or when urgent repairs are needed.
Maintain accurate logs of maintenance tasks, inspections, and repairs performed.
Ideal Candidate:
Proven experience in residential or estate maintenance, ideally in private households.
Certified or qualified in plumbing (NVQ, CAP/BEP, or equivalent).
Multi-skilled across a range of basic trades.
Proactive, self-sufficient, and discreet.
Capable of working independently or as part of a team.
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
Flexible and responsive to the needs of the property.
Desirable Qualifications:
Certification in plumbing or general building maintenance.
Experience in maintaining luxury or historic properties.
Knowledge of health & safety and compliance in private residences.
This role is ideal for a practical, dependable individual with a hands-on approach and a high level of trustworthiness. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the estate remains functional, safe, and in excellent condition.
