Dear Sir/Madam,

My name is Aubrey Blanchette and I am the Second Stewardess on a 38 meter private motor yacht in Nassau, Bahamas. I am writing to express my interest in your positions as Domestic Worker and/or Nanny (including Traveling Nanny).

After spending the last year as the au pair to three boys in Paris, France, I decided to follow my passions for housekeeping, management and service and thus made the leap to the luxury yachting industry. Four days into my training, I landed the position of Junior Stewardess on my current yacht. During my time on this yacht, I received two pay raises and was promoted to the position of Second Stewardess. This promotion changed my role in that no longer am I merely responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and inventories of crew areas and laundry of the crew, I now manage all aspects of the guest interior spaces and serve guests directly to the highest possible standard.

As an au pair, I was responsible for accompanying the children to and from after-school activities, assisting with homework, teaching English through daily lesson plans as well as maintaining their personal hygiene. I also prepared healthy dinners daily for the family of 5 and performed household tasks including deep cleaning of the apartment, laundry and ironing of the family’s garments, assisting with various administrative tasks, as well as running errands. I also improved my fluency in French from the intermediate (B2) level to advanced (C1) through a course I attended daily.

Prior to this, I received two Bachelor’s degrees from Virginia Commonwealth University, one in French Language and Culture, the other in Fashion Merchandising. During this time, I studied abroad twice, in both London and Paris, and graduated at the top of my class, receiving the Excellence in French Award as well as Outstanding Fashion Merchandising Senior Award. In addition to participating in extracurricular activities and working a number of times in the fashion industry, my final year I was selected by my professors to direct the annual VCU Fashion Show for more than 800 guests. As Director, strong organisational, communication and problem solving skills were mandatory in order to ensure a seamless experience for the audience and VIP guests.

Overall, I recognise my strengths as being a fast learner, adaptable, highly organised, reliable, driven to complete tasks to the highest possible standard, as well as being kind and honest. I am confident that I would be an asset to any of your families.
